The Golf Foundation is a member of SafeGolf which is a partnership of UK golf bodies committed to promoting a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working and volunteering in golf.

SafeGolf has been established to help golf respond to the issue of child protection in sport. Its mission is to safeguard the welfare of children and young people involved in golf. This will be achieved through a unique partnership which has the ability to influence and act as advocate for safeguarding across the golfing landscape, developing a consistent approach towards ensuring that all people have a fun, safe and positive experience when playing golf.

If you have a concern about the welfare of any child you can share this on SafeGolf website.

There is also information for clubs and coaches from their relevant home union and association about how to become SafeGolf accredited. All our HSBC Golf Roots Centres have SafeGolf accredited PGA coaches delivering our projects and initiatives.

Any allegation, suspicion of harm or concern will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly, fairly and appropriately. The golf partners work closely with the NSPCC and the statutory agencies where appropriate to ensure that safeguarding children is prioritised. Anyone with concerns can also contact the NSPCC’s general Helpline for adults 0808 800 5000 and Childline for children and young people 0800 1111.
